This is another transition from the classic Filjourn website in 2007 using static HTML to dynamic content. To create the company’s corporate theme, using Japanese background theme coupled with Japanese icons made this project a perfect depiction of her cultural strength.

This site is a redesign of the ‘05 static HTML. Now having a CMS to modify its dynamic content, this was my first attempt to go for simple styling (not having the typical rugged edges and grunge effects as in most designs I created) but more into a Ikea-like design. The result is a play of colors on a whole lot of white background.

The designer’s task is to create a simple, corporate-themed landing page and sub-page. I recommended the use of Wordpress because of the CMS’s simplicity of use and expandability to customize sidebars and widgets. Creating the 2 templates make it easier for the owner to manage and modify content.

Europeans are known to bring out quality products thus this website project was motivated to achieve that same quality they expect for their products — like fine Italian leather. Clean and crisp use of lines, straight-forward use of typography and emphasis on important content. A noticeable layout of white space is also used to show a minimalistic theme that accentuates popular Scandinavian style.

The project also took a different approach in web design. Many hours were spent in designing a theme like this - a mixture of old school use of Scriptaculous with Lightbox presentation techniques while accentuating its layout with new trends in design. Thus this site has been featured and recognized in many web galleries (see below) and most recently featured at Designer’s Awards Gallery.
